Message from the President

As an all-around plastics processing manufacturer, C. I. Kasei has leveraged its knowledge of and experience in materials as well as its broad mix of resin technologies to develop a diverse product lineup that has fulfilled the needs of the market since its foundation in 1963. Our expertise has grown to include agricultural materials, specialty films, decorative materials, packaging materials, civil engineering materials, and electronic materials.

Today, we are actively moving forward with an overseas growth plan that calls for the expansion of production capability overseas and the development of new markets. At the same time, we are also focusing on uncovering new business segments that meet the needs of today and tomorrow. We are working hard on the product and business developments in the field of green energies, including LED lighting solutions and encapsulants for photovoltaic (PV) solar cells.

In fiscal year 2009, C. I. Kasei became a wholly owned subsidiary of Itochu Corporation. This move integrates our product development competencies and production expertise with Itochu’s vast network, domestic as well as international, for sales and information sourcing. It also enables us to create new business segments, new higher value added products and accelerate our expansion into overseas markets.

We will continue to live up to our reputation for generating value through manufacturing goods and leverage our advanced technologies and group synergies to contribute to the betterment of society and future generations under the corporate motto, "Manufacturing friendly to people, the earth and the future."
